چکیده
Biofilm formation by bacteria has become one of the major reasons for escalation antimicrobial resistance. The present research focused on development, optimization and evaluation antibiofilm potential clove oil nanoscale emulsion (o/w) loaded with levofloxacin (LFX-NE) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm. optimized NE was selected through construction pseudo-ternary phase diagrams found to be stable. particle size drug content LFX-NE 18.84 ± 0.5 nm 99.2 0.5%, respectively. It demonstrated high antibacterial activity 16-fold 8-fold reduction in MIC LFX P. Escherichia coli Klebsiella pneumoniae , able eradicate pre-formed biofilm as evidenced field emission scanning electron microscopy confocal laser microscopy. Antiquorum sensing study revealed inhibition quorum activity. non-irritant cytocompatible confirmed HET-CAM test safety normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK) cell line. This demonstrates possible treatment non-healing wounds inflicted bacterial • Levofloxacin into (LFX-NE). showed nanometric excellent thermodynamic stability. eradicated mature after 6 h treatment. epithelial keratinocytes. great harbouring wounds.

Effects of Extracts and an Essential Oil from Some Medicinal Plants against Biofilm Formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Biofilm of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an opportunistic pathogen, can cause serious health problems, such as chronic infections, especially in immunocompromised patients. Many studies have suggested administration of new generation of antibiotics, as P. aeruginosa biofilms have developed high resistance to antimicrobial drugs. This study reports the inhibitory effect of three medicinal plant extr...

متن کاملNoncontact, low-frequency ultrasound as an effective therapy against Pseudomonas aeruginosa-infected biofilm wounds.
Bacterial biofilms, a critical chronic wound mediator, remain difficult to treat. Energy-based devices may potentially improve healing, but with no evidence of efficacy against biofilms. This study evaluates noncontact, low-frequency ultrasound (NLFU) in the treatment of biofilm-infected wounds. Six-millimeter dermal punch wounds in rabbit ears were inoculated with 10(7) colony-forming units of...
متن کاملThe Nephroprotective Effect of Clove Oil (Oleum Caryophylli) Against Levofloxacin Toxicity in Rats
Background: Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, but it may induce kidney dysfunction. Clove oil (Oleum caryophylli) has antioxidant properties that may alleviate levofloxacin toxicity. This study aimed to examine the protective effect of clove oil on levofloxacin-induced nephrotoxicity in rat animal models. Methods: A total of 24 male ra...
متن کاملConserved OprF as a Selective Immunogen Against Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Background & Objectives: Due to the importance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in severe inpatient infections and high mortality, the need for an efficient vaccine against these bacteria is increasing. In this regard, the general outer membrane porin of the most problematic microorganism P. aeruginosa, outer membrane protein F (OprF), is a good vaccine cand...
